About the Bored Vegetarian

bio-pic

My name is Bethany and I live in Greenpoint. The Bored Vegetarian is a way to push myself (and hopefully you!) to try new recipes, new flavors and new textures. Food shound be fun and exciting, not boring. This blog is about that.

You’ll also notice photo documentation of my city exploring and travels . . . and occasionally a few songs that I like.

Thanks for reading, and feel free to ask me anything or send me mail.

How long have you been a vegetarian?

About 15 years.

Why are you a vegetarian?

It’s been so long that it’s almost a moot point. Started out in teenage rebellion and has lasted far beyond that. I think animals are pretty great, so I’d rather not eat them and it’s not difficult to maintain an interesting and varied diet as a vegetarian, which is the point of this blog.

What kind of camera do you use?

Canon EOS 50D. I have 50mm and 55mm lenses. I use two Lowel EGO tabletop light units since I live in a basement apartment without a lot of natural light.

All food photographs are taken inside my Greenpoint apartment. Other photos are taken… everywhere. Recipes are original unless otherwise noted (and linked).
